Billing and denials with Tasy data
Between care delivered and cash in the bank there are several stages where revenue gets lost. The billing dashboards show each of them with Tasy data.
Hospital billing is the path from care delivered to money received: the account must be closed, audited, sent to the payer, accepted (or denied) and paid. At each stage, part of the revenue can be delayed or lost. With Tasy data, Clic Health shows where accounts are stuck, how much was denied and how much was written off.
The billing dashboards
| Dashboard | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Daily Pending Accounts | Unbilled accounts, with days open and protocol status |
| Billing Performance | Billing trends over time |
| Fully Open Accounts | Open and/or denied receivables, by due month and payer |
| Write-offs | Accounts billed as losses |
| ADM Command Center | Denial rate, value of unbilled accounts and average collection period |
The questions these dashboards answer
- How much of this month's billing has not gone out yet? Unbilled accounts show the value and age of each account. The article unbilled accounts explains how to control them.
- How much is being denied? The denial rate and the denied receivables show payers' rejections. The article hospital claim denials covers the types of denial and how to reduce them.
- How much will not be collected? The Write-offs dashboard shows accounts billed as losses.
- How long does it take to get paid? The average collection period links billing to cash. See average collection period.
The limit of what BI solves
BI shows where the problem is and what it costs. Fixing a denial (appeal, registration correction, price table adjustment, team training) happens in the billing process and in Tasy itself. BI's value lies in prioritizing: tackling first the payers, reasons and departments that concentrate most of the value.
